Passing is a fundamental skill in basketball, and practicing passing drills can help improve your accuracy, timing, and decision-making on the court. Here are some passing drills you can incorporate into your training routine:

1. Two Person Passing

A. Chest Pass Drill: Stand facing a partner at a moderate distance. Use a chest pass to throw the ball to your partner, focusing on accuracy and a strong, quick release. Your partner catches the ball and immediately throws it back to you. Repeat the drill for a set number of repetitions or time. b. Overhead Pass Drill: Similar to the chest pass drill, but this time, use an overhead pass. Start with the ball overhead, extend your arms, and release the ball with a snap of your wrists. Repeat the drill with your partner.
B. Three-Person Weave: Similar to the chest pass drill, but this time, use an overhead pass. Start with the ball overhead, extend your arms, and release the ball with a snap of your wrists. Repeat the drill with your partner.

2. three person weave

This drill involves three players moving in a coordinated pattern up and down the court while passing the ball. Start at one end of the court with Player A in the middle, Player B on the left wing, and Player C on the right wing. Player A begins by passing to Player B and then runs behind Player B. Player B catches the ball, passes to Player C, and runs behind Player C. Player C catches the ball, passes to Player A, and the pattern continues. This drill improves passing accuracy, communication, and coordination.

3. Outlet Passing

Set up two lines of players, one on each side of the court. One player starts under the basket with the ball, and another player stands near half-court at the sideline. The player under the basket throws an outlet pass to the player near half-court, who catches the ball and quickly passes it back. The drill continues with the player under the basket making the outlet pass to the next player in line. This drill helps simulate fast-break situations and improves long-range passing accuracy.

4. Passing against Pressur

This drill focuses on passing under defensive pressure. Set up a defender who actively tries to intercept or deflect passes. The passer needs to make crisp, quick, and accurate passes to teammates while being challenged by the defender. This drill helps improve passing accuracy, decision-making, and handling pressure situations.

5. Passing with Targets

Set up various targets on the court, such as cones or spots on the floor. Assign point values to each target. Players move around the court and pass the ball to hit the targets, aiming for the highest point values. This drill helps develop passing accuracy and adds an element of competition.
Remember to practice passing with both hands and focus on techniques such as using proper hand placement, snapping your wrists, and leading your teammates with accurate passes. Communication and timing are also important aspects of effective passing.
